Congrats to Fred on the groundbreaking of 950 MODE, located in the hipster Philadelphia neighborhood, Northern Liberties!

950 MODE made it's high-society debut at Philadelphia STYLE Magazine's "Best of 2007" party last Thursday. The ultra-luxury condominiums were very well received by the crowd . . . as were the killer Green Apple Martinis served up at the 950 MODE table.

Saturday, May 5th marked the Grand Opening of Jim's Soft Pretzel Bakery at "The Ridge" in Philadelphia. Making up 1/4th of franchise owners "The Pretzel Dudes", Fred has made his debut in the food service industry!

Note: For all of those who thought I was crazy for going into the hospitality industry (DAD!!!), please keep in mind that there have been many Potoks along the way who have shared their culinary talent one way or another. Be it butcher, baker or pretzel stick maker . . .

Please join me in sending Fred best wishes and lots of mazel in his new endeavor. Next time you're in Philly stop by Jim's for a piping hot soft pretzel and some homemade Italian Water Ice. YUM!!!

I think that George Bernard Shaw was definitely onto something . . . and so . . . welcome to the first posting on the new Potok Family Blog!

With so many aunts, uncles and cousins scattered across the globe, I thought this would be a great way to stay in touch. It's been way too long since some of us have gotten together, while (as crazy as it sounds) some of us have never even met! As most of you probably know, my dad keeps bugging me to go up to Canada or hop on a plane to France, but I know it's going to be a little while before I can make that happen.

So, in preparation for that day, I'd like to invite you all to share a little bit of your life with us.
